May's Fabulous Feline

Mamba has lived at The Animal Shelter for 2 1/2 years! We know black cats have it hard, but how this darling love has been so overlooked is a mystery. He is one of the first to come greet visitors, and despite having reached adulthood still likes to play. He is a domestic medium hair and regular grooming will have him looking as beautiful on the outside as he is on the inside.

Do you love animals, but now is not the best time for you to commit for a lifetime? You might consider providing foster care for an animal in need. Foster care helps shelters care for animals that need extra help that they can't get in a kennel. One example is The Animal Shelter's heartworm positive dogs ~ thanks to wonderful donors, they have the funding to get treated, but they must wait in line for a quiet foster home for their recovery period. Meet Lucy!

Lucy is wonderful young lab (mix?) who has been cooped up much longer than any lab deserves. She is ready for a home with a large yard and someone to play with! Could be an active person, or an active dog of her size (she can overwhelm smaller dogs). Like so many labs, Lucy is active, loving, and enjoys a good meal (which makes her a great candidate for training). She does get startled by loud noises, so needs to be kept safe and secure. She's been waiting one year for a home of her own - can you help? She's spayed and vaccinated and ready to go!

Meet Bella!

Looking for tons of fun? Make sure you look at Bella! Bella has a bright, happy disposition and love of play and fun that is infectious. Her wish list includes a yard, toys, and someone who wants to provide her plenty to do. She also needs someone who can teach her the wonders - and responsibilities - of being a beloved pet. You see, Bella was born at the shelter, so she has yet to learn the household rules. But she'll do anything for love & fun, so please don't pass her by!

Meet Murphy!

Murphy is a small-scale Shepherd mix with a great big heart! Decidely medium in size, Murphy is perfect for manageable play sessions and lots of cuddling (his favority activity). He gets along just fine with other dogs, even his wild roomie and his attention-hog roomie. He's pretty adaptable, and mighty handsome! Murphy has been waiting at the shelter since April 2009.

Meet Rachel!

Rachel is a slender hound mix girl, on the small end of "medium" in size. Rachel is beautiful, smart and friendly. She loves to explore and learn tricks, such as sitting up or balancing for a treat. She isn't very fond of exuberant puppies and would much rather spend her time with people.
